An Organic Pantry on Broadway
Even amongst today's gentrifiers, there are levels. Starbucks was formerly the unmistakable sign of a neighborhood's upward change. That distinction was soon replaced by Trader Joe's. However, I've recently heard some jaded folks calling these two establishments "so 2009," meaning, the true sign of gentrification is the organic food purveyor. There happens to be one now open on the ground floor retail space at the Eastern Columbia building on the corner of Broadway and 9th. It's called Om Nom Organics and they also serve fresh coffee!
